Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Government College, Faridabad was popularly known as Pt. J.L.N. Govt.College, Faridabad was established in 1971.

It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (in 2nd Cycle) on 28th March 2010.

Located conveniently near the Delhi- Agra National Highway, 10 Kilometers from the Delhi border, the college is situated in sector 16A of the industrial township of Faridabad. Spread over an area of 12.5 acres, the college has extensive facilities for all- round growth of its students.

The college offers quality education in all the three streams i.e. Humanities, Science, and Commerce. The college boasts of 20 graduate and postgraduate departments with some of the most experienced faculty in the state.

The college enjoys special attention of both, the State Education Department as well as the UGC, because of its unique location as well as its commitment to the pursuit of excellence in education. Thus, the college has been selected as one of the 25 best colleges of Haryana and will be further developed as a centre of excellence.

The college is running evening classes for the session 1973-74, which offers undergraduate courses in Humanities to those who are employed, and yet wish to further their education.

The college is an important centre of distance education and serves as a study centre for both IGNOU and Department of Distance Education, MD University, Rohtak. The Evening session of the college offers select undergraduate courses to those who are employed and yet wish to enhance their career and life- skills.
