Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhaya Govt. Girls P.G. College, Lucknow was established in 1997.

Its affiliated to Lucknow University.

To cater to needs of higher education of women by then Prime Minister of India who laid foundation of the institution.

The building of the institution constructed by Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Board, Lucknow includes the buildings for the faculties of Arts, Commerce and Science.

Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Allahabad opened study centre in the institution under which courses namely-post graduate diploma in Financial Management, diploma in Health Education and Nutrition, Bachelor in Library Science, Diploma in Diet & Nutrition, diploma in Fashion Designing & post graduate courses in Sociology, Hindi, Sociology, Economics and Home Science.
