About Pragati College, Raipur

Pragati College, Raipur was established in 2000. It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide a platform in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the path of progress.

The college is affiliated to Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

It is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) Act, 1956 and for Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) the college is recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

Pragati College has always stood above the rest of its approach to education and its pedagogies. Nevertheless, our ways of teaching and learning have been always unique and innovative.

The college offers three years Degree courses & two years PG courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, & Management streams under Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur.

The institute offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.

It also offers two years D.Ed, M.Ed & B.P.Ed. courses recognized by Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur. It aims at educating more and more people of rural socially economically backward and to those who have craving for education but can’t manage to go far in distant big cities.

Various teaching and learning techniques are being used by the faculty to impart knowledge and skills to students at Pragati College, Raipur in its various departments.

Rules & Regulations at Pragati College, Raipur:

Students are expected to behave themselves in a manner worthy of an educated Indian citizen
Students must maintain discipline in the college premises
Students shall not be allowed to interfere with orderly administration and discipline of the institution
Ragging of any sort is strictly forbidden in the college
No student or group of students shall be represented by anyone
In the case of misbehavior, the students can be suspended from the college by the Principal / College Management, which shall be final
No student will be allowed to collect any money as a contribution from the students or any person without the prior sanction of the Principal
Students are expected to take proper care of the college property and to help in keeping the college premises neat and tidy.
Damaging the property of the college, e.g. disfiguring walls, door fittings, etc. or breaking furniture etc. is a breach of discipline and will be severely punished/penalized
For withdrawing T.C., Railway concession from the college, the students shall have to submit an application to the Principal and shall receive the desired documents after three days of submission of application
The University levies are subject to change
It is recommended that students should wear the simple and unostentatious dress with college blazer that is suitable for the academic environment. The student must carry their Identity Card issued by the college
The book issued from the library to the student of the college shall be returned within 15 days, failing which they shall be liable to pay a fine
Students shall be entitled to issue only two books from the college library at a time
Students are restricted to consume any toxic commodity. If found indulging in these, will be punished severely as per the rule

A campus with greenery everywhere spread in a large area. This also includes an ample parking space for vehicles of students, staff & visitors.
An excellent library with a vast collection of books, periodicals, and journals for all classes. The College has a reading room cum library for extra reading and study (magazines, newspapers, periodicals, etc.).
Well equipped updated hi-tech, air-conditioned and innovative two computer labs fulfilling the demands of quality education. The computer lab features free WiFi facility for students and staff. Over Head Projector, LCD Projector in combination with the white board is being used as teaching aids.
The college has a well-equipped physics laboratory and details are Instruments like spectrometer, CRO, HeNe laser, Sonometer, Gauss equipment, Electronic Equipment Zener Diode, Energy band gap measurement, Bar pendulum, Borton device, Frequency generator etc. In the lab and expertise in various departments are available to the students and staff to carry out the work.
The college has well-equipped seminar hall/e-room with audio and video (DLP Projector) facility. It has a capacity of 100 seats. All these facilities are meeting the criteria for organizing seminars, conferences, and workshops.
College cafe is the union zone for food and friends. A place to chill out after a serious session of studies for juniors and seniors alike, for fun and frolic and for lip smacking delicacies. So Pragati College cafe builds up an ambiance of rendezvous where students love to spend their free time with their pals keeping away all the hassles of mundane living.
The college always encourages students for participation in various inter-university, university level, zonal, state, national, inter-college tournaments. The college provides following indoor and outdoor games facility to the student.
The college has well equipped Activity Hall having facilities of badminton and carom as indoor games. Facilities are also available for outdoor games like cricket, football, handball, volleyball, softball, basketball, lawn tennis, swimming, and judo etc.
Fields and equipment for outdoor games – All games kit is supplied to the player student. The students go for practice to our sister concern and nearby Dusshera ground and Pt R.S.U. sports ground for practice.
The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to assure the quality of the college and publishes college magazine every year.
The college has taken up the responsibility of imparting necessary, effective and practical education to the students so that they can reach great heights and attain maximum achievements in their life
The college runs a canteen inside the campus where staff and students can have meals and snacks prepared in a hygienic manner and at an affordable cost
Internet & Wi-Fi facilities may be availed by the students and teachers as per their needs.
State Government and the Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell.
The institute provides the training facility like- face to face interview, resume making, communication skills, that help the students to face the campus recruitment.
For every course, the college imparts practical training to its students that helps them to understand better, improve their demonstrative skills, eliminate hesitation and in this process strives to mold them into industry ready professionals.
