Phulsing Naik Mahavidyalaya (PNM), Pusad was established in 1961. Its affiliated to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University.

Phulsing Naik Mahavidyalaya Was started on 28th June 1961. It was the dream of our Late Phulsing Naik that the students belonging to this remote rural area should get higher education. The Ex-Chief Minister Late Vasantrao Naik being inspired by his father Phulsing Naik formed the Janata Shikshan Prasarak Mandal in 1960. The first outcome of their strenuous efforts was Phulsing Naik Mahavidyalaya Arts & Commerce Faculty with 102 students. In 1973 Science Faculty was started on undergraduate level with the keen interest of Ex-President Dr. N.P. Hirani & Secretary Shri Manoharrao Naik. The College started Junior wing (XI & XII) in the faculty of Arts, Commerce & Science in 1975-76 .

Keeping the trend of growth the college introduced post graduate courses in Chemistry & Marathi (1992-93), Commerce (1994-95), English (2000-01), Computer Science (2002-03), Physics (2014-15), Mathematics (2014-15), Sociology (2014-15), & a graduate course in B.Lib.Sc. (2014-15). The College is also running the certificate courses in Non-conventional energy system & Functional English & the HSC (Bifocal Electronics).

All undergraduate & post graducate courses are affiliated to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati. Today more than 2000 Students are taking the advantage of higher education.

The college is situated on Pusad - Nagpur road, on a wide spread 54 acres of land, having spacious building with well furnished class rooms, well equipped laboratories, a Library with more than sixty thousand of books, an auditorium of thousands seats capacity, Multi Gymnasium, Play-grounds with 400 meter running track, Hostels & Staff quarters and beautiful gardens.

To promote higher education for the marginalised folks of the remote rural areas and to strive for the all round development of our students to face the global competition with utmost confidence by imparting scientific awareness and strengthening their inner conscience and human values.

To inspire creativity by encouraging them to find out their inherent talents and aptitudes through learning.
