PGP College of Engineering and Technology (PGPCET), Namakkal was established in 1999.  It is affiliated to Anna University.

The college is approved by AICTE and Government of Tamil Nadu.

The PGPCET was founded by Dr.Palani G.Periasamy, an NRI and Educationist turned entrepreneur, as a token of love and concern for the economic and intellectual growth of the youth of his native place. The establishment of the college fulfills his long cherished desire of providing access to high quality technical education to the aspiring youths of this area.

The aim of the college is at fostering an environment of intellectual vigor, excitement of discovery and social commitment through quality education, and are committed to generate, disseminate and preserve knowledge and work with the like minded to focus this knowledge to cope up with world’s great challenges.

The college in addition to class room teaching with modern educational aids the students have the advantage of value added courses, personality development program etc on a regular basis.
