PGP College of Education, Namakkal was established in 2005. Its affiliated to Anna University.

PGP College of Education established in 2005 Accredited by NAAC in 2008 and Reaccredited in 2015 with "A" Grade, is a pioneer Institute of Excellence. Our College is affiliated to Tamilnadu Teachers Education University, Chennai, formerly affiliated to Periyar University, Salem.

The PGP Educational Institutions in a sprawling and sylvan campus of 200 acres and constructed in an area of about 3660 sq.mts with a floor area of 39400 sq.ft is the realization of the dream of Dr.Palani G. Periasamy M.A., M.A., Ph.D., (USA) to establish colleges of International standard in Namakkal.

The College is recognized by NCTE, and Tamilnadu Teachers Educcation University-Chennai. The Student Teachers are given sound theoretical knowledge as well as exposure to all innovative and modern methods of teaching.

The PGP College of Education, promoted by Dr. Palani G. Periyasamy is a dream that has come true. It is a grateful gift of a son of the soil to his native place. It has been a long cherished dream of Dr. Palani G. Periyasamy, to start a college close to his native place to cater to the intellectual needs of the youth of Tamilnadu in general and of Namakkal district in particular. The dream has taken a concrete shape with the starting of this college in 2005.

The objectives are to promote the college into an institution of Excellence, which will serve the rural youth who have an easy access to higher education. It will inculcate in the youth discipline, higher levels of culture and finer values of life. The college will strive for the integrated growth of the students in which their intellectual, moral and cultural development will be taken proper care.

As per of his vision to offer quality education he has come forward to start a college of Education to generate quality teachers who are the grassroots of the nation.
