Payyanur College, Payyanur was established in 1965.

Its affiliated to Kannur University.

It is a post graduate, aided college affiliated to Kannur University and accredited by NAAC at 'A' level.

The college has been managed by Payyanur Educational Society.

Ever since its inception, the college has materialized the higher education dreams of thousands of young aspirants of North Malabar, hailing mainly from the deprived sections of the society.

The aim of the institute is to be harmonious development of the students and the local community through higher education of remarkable quality and dissemination of secular and democratic values in the learners and the people around with a view to building a cohesive and tolerant society.
