Patriarch Ignatius Zakka-Ist Training College, Ernakulam was established in 1996.

The college is named after his holiness Ignatius Zakka Ist I, The prince Patriarch of Antioch & Supreme Head of the Universal Syrian Orthodox Church.
The very name of the college itself is a symbol of Universal Brotherhood. It is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam with the approval from National Council for Teacher Education.
