The college was formally known as Siddhartha College and was renamed to the current name in 1983 by the then Hon. Chief Minister Sri N.T.Rama Rao.
The courses affiliated to Andhra University and subsequently transferred to Acharya Nagarjuna University.
It main aim is to strive to meet the graduate and post-graduate educational needs of the region, imparting wholesome instruction for social, cultural and economic advancement.
