Nitte School of Management (NSM), Bangalore was established in 1979 by Justice K S Hegde, the founder who was the prime mover of the Nitte Education Trust.

Nitte Education Trust comprises of medical, dental and paramedical colleges, specialty hospital, engineering colleges, Management institutes, Computer Application institutes, a college of hotel management, technical training institutes, first grade colleges, pre-university colleges, schools and a 3-star hotel – in all 23 institutions with 10,000 students, 3,500 staff and 18,500 alumni.

NSM's PGDM program is integrated with Action Learning Projects, classroom teaching with real-life situations which makes it distinct from rest of the programs offered by many B-Schools.
