National Institute of Technology (NIT), Mizoram was established in 2010.

is a new NIT being mentored by VNIT, Nagpur. The Ministry Of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India vide its order no. F. 23-13-2009-TS-III Dated 30th of Oct. 2009 and 3rd March 2010, has decided to set up ten new NITs .

NIT Mizoram is proposed to be started in Mizoram state to cater to the needs of this state. NITMZ provides undergraduate courses in Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
