Noorul Islam College of Arts & Science (NICAS), Kanyakumari was established in 2001. It is affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. 

Noorul Islam College of Arst & Science is an offspring of Noorul Islam Educational Trust. Noorul Islam Educational Trust is reputed for its commitment to the cause of higher education. Janab. Dr. A.P. Majeed Khan, the well known Philanthropist, is the Founder Chairman of the Trust. The Trust has to its credit certain popular technical and Educational Institutions, namely, the well-known, Noorul Islam University at Kumaracoil, Noorul Islam Polytechnic College at Punkarai, Noorul Islam Industrial Training Centre, Amaravilai, Noorul Islam Multispeciality Hospital (NIMS) at Neyyantinkara and Noorul Islam Dental College, Neyyantinkkara and Noorul Islam College of Arts & Science, Kumaracoil, Thuckalay.

The College is situated in the serene picturesque slope of the velimalai Hiils in the Western Ghats near the historically famous and once the capital of Travancore Kingdom, Padmanabhapuram. It is about 55 Kms, away from Thiruvananthapuram and 14 kms from Nagercoil.The College campus is spread over an area of more than 15 acres of greenery.

NICAS, Started in 2001 by the Noorul Islam Educational Trust, is affiliated to Manomaniam Sundaranar University, With a mearge strength of just 75 students, offering three courses namely Computer Science, Information Technology and Computer Applications, the college progressed leaps and bounds by adding new courses and infra facilities, within a short period since its establishment in 2001. NICAS distinguished itself in many ways earning the reputation as a well managed institution imparting excellent education in the field of Arts & Science. In recognition of its consistent good performance and its efforts to promote innovations and endeavours to foster linkeges with industries and community, the National Assessment and Accreditation Committtee (NAAC), Government of India has awarded NICAS with 'B' Grade. Today in the year 2016, the college has effective strength of about 1500 students and offers 11 U.G.

Courses, 5 P.G Courses. There are 85 members of the teaching staff and 44 members of the administrative staff. Among the Teaching staff, there are 11 Ph.D holders and 75 M.Phil degree holders.
