New Horizon College of Education (NHCE), Bengaluru Urban was established in October 1980 and the college is run by the New Horizon Educational and Cultural Trust, under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Mohan Manghnani, Managing Trustee.
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
The college is permanently affiliated to Bangalore University, Bengaluru and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) in October 2008 & 12(B) in August 2011 under Act, 1956.
It is also recognized & approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bengaluru to offer B.Ed. courses and re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - (CGPA Score 3.20 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 2nd December 2016.
The Government of Karnataka has accorded the grant-in-aid status to the college since 19/5/2009 vide its order No ED176 UGV 2004(Part) dated 19/5/2009.

The college offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.
Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level.
But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.
The college also has a Contact Centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi since 2005 to offer two years B.Ed. course under distance mode.
