Netaji Mahavidyalaya, Arambagh was established in 1948.

Its affiliated to University of Burdwan.

The college is named after Subah Chandra Bose.

For the first nine year, the college was affiliated to Calcutta University, as the intermediate college.

In 1957, the college was upgraded to a Degree College.

In 1960, the college was affiliated to the University of Burdwan.

The college also provides the facility of studying some rare courses like Plant Protection, Computer Science, Electronics, Environmental Science and Vocational Courses.
