Navyug Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Lucknow was established in 1963. The college is affiliated to the University of Lucknow.

The College was founded on 4th July, 1943 under the patronage of Navyug Seva Sangh, led by late Sri. Deen Dayal Ji, as a primary school. The Journay of Navyug Kanya Mahavidyalaya from 1963 to 2019 is a living example of the continous and dedicated efforts of a team of trusted persons dedicated to the cause of girl's education. A group of few educationist enthusiasts laid the foundations of vidyalaya in an obscure corner of Lucknow in 1943 with classes up to fifth standard and fourteen students in all. The Vidyalaya got recognition for High School in 1949, intermediate Arts in 1952, intermediate Science and Degree Course in 1963, B.Sc and B.Ed. in 1969, P.G.Courses in 1994 and B.Com in 1998 within the span of fifty years, Since the establishment of degree section in 1963 the college is now considered in best girl's college of Lucknow. Imparting education in various subjects up to post graduate level.

The discipline of the college is exemplary and the result speaks of itself. For the last 53 years the result of U.G. and P.G. courses has varied between 95% to 100%. During the span of 74 years the college has been continually striving hard to take its position to greater heights by the hard work and determination of staff and the students and has secured a commendable position in the capital of Uttar Pradesh.

• The college aims at sculpting out overall personalities of the students so that they become individuals equipped not only with knowledge but also endowed with eternal human values and zeal to bring about a positive change in the society thereby becoming responsible citizens of the country. This gets very aptly reflected through the motto of the college "Vidya dadati Vinayam": True knowledge humbles a human being.
• The college also aims at contributing in creating a society that has equal participation of women in all spheres of life. To make women not only educated but also support them to become financially independent and contribute towards the growth of the country. This is achieved through various unaided skill development courses being run in the college.
• The college aims to empower the students with competitive spirit, entrepreneurship qualities and knowledge of rich heritage of our nation so that they become self-reliant, techically equipped and legally aware individuals able to meet regional, national and global challenges with confidence.
