Naval Institute Of Technology (NIT), Mumbai was established in 2007.

The college is affiliated to the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education.

The college is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). It is also affiliated to Mumbai University for its BSc. degree course in hospitality studies. The Institute is well equipped and has fully furnished laboratories and classrooms.

The library has a collection of various books and magazines on relevant subjects and general reading. Experienced and qualified faculty have been recruited for the institute. Many eminent persons from the industry and management field are on the list of visiting faculty.
