About National Instructional Media Institute, Chennai,Tamilnadu

National Instructional Media Institute (NIMI), Chennai was established in 1986 by the Government of India under the Ministry of Labour, Government of India.

Later NIMI has been functioning as an Autonomous Society.

NIMI is engaged in developing instructional materials known as Instructional Media Packages in the form of complete training packages for training craftsmen and apprentices in the mechanical and electrical group of trades.

These packages will assist both trainers and trainees, thus improve the quality of training.

NIMI is functioning as a service oriented registered society under the Indo-German project with facilities, infrastructure and competencies to design, develop, produce and disseminate Instructional Media in the fields of Vocational Training.

NIMI will support occupational and individual development of the potential workforce in organized and unorganized sectors.
