Nagaon Gopinath Dev Goswami Commerce College, Nagaon was established in 1984, is the only full-fledged institution of higher education in commerce, in the entire central Assam region in the premises of Sankardev Natya Chora under the name of Nagaon Commerce College.

It was renamed as Nagaon GNDG Commerce College.

After the name of late Gopinath Dev Goswami, an illustrious son of Nagaon and was shifted to its present site at Panigaon, Nagaon in 1991.

The college was affiliated to Guwahati University in 1989 and has been permanently affiliated in 2003.
