National Academy of Defence Production (NADP), formerly known as Ordnance Factory Staff College (OFSC) was established in 1978 for imparting training to officers of Indian Ordnance Factory Service. OFSC has been renamed w.e.f. 13/05/2004 as NADP.

NADP is the nodal institution for training & development of the Managerial Cadre of Ordnance Factories under Ministry of Defence. NADP is the only institution of its kind within Ordnance Factories for imparting training to the Managerial Cadre of Ordnance Factories. NADP is wholly funded and guided by the policy and directives of Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) under Ministry of Defence.

Set up as Ordnance Factories Staff College (OFSC) in the year 1978 for providing institutionalized training to the fresh entrants and in-service Officers of Indian Ordnance Factories Service; it was rechristened as National Academy of Defence Production (NADP) in the year 2003.

Over the years, the Academy has systematically developed and expanded its activities and acquired the stature of a National Academy for Group 'A' Officers. Presently, NADP is conducting several streams of training programmes for Officers of IOFS & IOFHS, Labour Welfare Commissioners, Security Officers and Officers of ther Defence Govt. Organizations.

With the motto 'Vidya Amritam' (Knowledge Eternal), the Academy is committed to the philosophy of 'Excellence through Learning'. The Academy has evolved over the years to meet the fast-changing needs to the organization and to equip its officers with adequate techno-managerial skills for coping effectively with the increasingly complex workplace and environment through 'Management Development Programmes (MDP)'.

In today's highly disruptive world, the Academy intends ro re-engineer itself and transform into an Institute of National Importance in the field of Defence Technology (Land Systems) and Management. The Vision is to align its functioning with the emergent & future needs of the Defence Establishments in the critical areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Industry 4.0 etc.

and become the nodal National Training Institute for all the organisations under the Department of Defence Production including all the DPSUs & Quality Assurance Establishments.

ABOUT PGDM (BM)

The Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Business Management) is an AICTE approved 2-Years fully residential programme with a focus on defence industries, for the students including executives aspiring to make / advance their career in the field of Management.

PGDM (BM) course intends to provide both theoretical and practical learning in diverse areas of management. The curriculum of this course is designed to build the capacity of students/executives in all functional areas of management by inculcating /developing their managerial skills. Morever, a special focus on Defence Management topics has been given in the curriculum to have a better appreciation of specific needs of defence sector. Leveraging on the vast and rich experience of over 40 years of imparting training in the area of defence technology and management, NADP has launched this PGDM (BM) course to create a pool of highly skilled managers to take the Indian defence industry to a new height and make 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' in defence production.
