About N.D.R.K. First Grade College
N.D.R.K. First Grade College, Hassan was established in 1977 under the management of Boovanahally Channakeshava Swamy Vidya Samsthe (R) by the able and efficient leadership of late Smt. Narayani D R Karigowda and Late Sri D R Karigowda.
It is one of the premier colleges to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
The college is affiliated to University of Mysore, Mysuru and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.
It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.40 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 30th November 2011.
The college is situated in the heart of Hassan city, one of the upcoming cities of Karnataka. It is located 185 Km's. away from Bengaluru and 170 Km's. from Manguluru.
The college which came into existence in a humble way with just 25 students, is at present imparting education to more than 1200 students every year in the Degree Courses of Arts, Commerce, Business Management and Science.
The prime visions of the college are to pursue the spirit of learning creativity and challenge and to establish a high-quality institution that will equip the students with the competitive edge with regard to academic excellence. The college works with a motive to contribute good Teachers for the society.
At present, the college offers the Degree Courses of Arts, Commerce, Business Management and Science as per the regulations of the University of Mysore, Mysuru. The academic year usually begins in the month of June/July.

- The college has a library with a good number of books (both text and reference) on various subjects to meet the needs of the students as well as the teachers with reading room facility. Daily Newspapers and selected journals are also regularly subscribed
- State of the Art Laboratories with sufficient space and all the necessary equipment are made available to various departments
- The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to assure the quality of the college and also details regarding submission of Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) to NAAC annually
- The college runs a canteen inside the campus where staff and students can have meals and snacks prepared in a hygienic manner and at an affordable cost
- Internet & Wi-Fi facilities may be availed by the students and teachers as per their needs
- Transportation facility is available for the students
- The college also has a hostel with providing all the facilities, security and good atmosphere, best suited for studies of the boys & girls coming from far-off places.
- The college has a large playground with will-equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton and so on
- A medical facility has been available in the college for the benefit of the students
- State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
- To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
- The college also organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences for improving teaching skills and methodology
- The college consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment
