About Mysore Medical College

Mysore Medical College (MMC), Mysore was established in 1924 as the first in Karnataka.

The college holds the distinction of being the seventh oldest medical college in India.

Therefore, the college is renowned as one of the oldest medical colleges in the country.

The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and is also recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI).

The management of the college is run by the State Government. Government Medical College Mysore was formerly known as the Mysore Medical College.

Major change in working at the college came in early nineties after establishment of alumni association and MMC graduate Association of North America.

Both of these organizations have contributed to the formation of auditorium in the college. This auditorium has seating facility of 800 and also has furnished guests rooms and two green rooms.

Both of the organizations are now working actively towards building a sports complex and setting up of corporate fun to support research and thesis’ projects.
