Madhava Vilasom Teacher Training Institute, Chowara (Dist. Thiruvananthapuram) was popularly known as M.V Teacher Training Institute, was established in 2003 and conducts teacher training programme at the diploma level, i.e. Teacher Training Certificate (TTC).

It is one of the premier institute established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with the State Council of Education Research and Training, Thiruvananthapuram. It is also recognized and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bengaluru & Govt. of Kerala.

The institute also two years Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) or Teacher Training (T.T.C.) course for those who have completed their intermediate with the minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized college/university under the affiliating university.

Students here are admitted who completed their intermediate from recognized college/university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the intermediate level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled to a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by the affiliating University, and various other examinations are held in the institute premises.
