Madhava Pai Memorial College, Manipal (Dist. Udupi) was also known as MPMC, Manipal established on 7th July 1999 by Late Sri T. Ramesh.U.Pai to give undergraduate courses to the residents not only of Manipal but also of the rural areas in the vicinity of Manipal.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Mangalore University, Mangaluru and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 4th April 2013 under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.50 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 14th September 2015.

Since its inception, the college has been striving hard to prepare students to be academically strong and at the same time training them to become competent to face the challenges of modern society.

The college, during this very short period of 16-17 years has made a good impact in this area, as an institution with quality in teaching, with a high level of discipline and totally insulated against the frequent disturbance of strikes and agitations impinging from outside.

With their motto, MPMC has been catering the educational needs of many students who have found good employment and placement in different spheres of life due to the guidance and opportunities.

The aim of the college is to provide non-professional courses in the international center for the colleges in Manipal and to provide value based education at the reasonable rate with the sole object of providing education to those who aspire.

From 2006-07, the college follows credit based semester system for degree courses of B.A, B.Com, B.B.M, and B.C.A. degree courses with various specializations. The students have the flexibility to pursue the degree program within the time given by the university.

Under the credit based semester system, they have the flexibility to move from one extracurricular activity to the other with some exceptions.

In 2012-13, there was a revision of syllabus of BBM and BCA courses. The college also offers certain Skill Development courses to enhance the students’ knowledge. Courses like Communication Skills, Personality Development, etc are also provided to students of all classes to honor their interpersonal skills
