Moodlakatte Institute of Technology (MIT), Kundapur was established in 2004 by a charitable institution Moodlakatte Nagarathna Bhujanga Shetty Trust.

Moodlakatte Institute of Technology, is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum.

It is also recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi and Government of Karnataka.
