Mohanananda College, Durgapur was established in 2003.

It has been developed as a self-financing Non-government Teacher Education College at the behest of Sri Bibhabananda Bramhachary Maraharaj, Sri Ranajit Kumar Das, Working president of Organizing Committee, as well as by the intent cooperation of local people.

The College was inaugurated by Hon'ble Sri Jyoti Basu, formar Chief Minister of West Bengal.

The College was established and run by Mohanananda College (Society) Regn. No. S/II/19513 of 2003-04 as per Society Act XXVI of 1961.

The college is well equipped with all modern facilities.

The College is affiliated to the University of Burdwan, an exalted place amongst the universities of West Bengal.
