About Mukand Lal National College
Mukand Lal National College, Yamuna Nagar (informally MLN College or simply MLN Yamuna Nagar) is a government aided private college of Arts, Science, and Commerce in the state of Haryana, India.
The college was established in 1955 by a great visionary and educationist Seth Jai Prakash in the cherished memory of his illustrious father Seth Mukand Lal Ji, who was a renowned Gandhian and philanthropist. It was established for providing graduate level education to the youth of Yamuna Nagar.
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
The college is affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.
It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - (CGPA Score 3.01 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 21st February 2014.
MLN Campus is located in Model Town, Yamuna Nagar. It is built in approximately 20,000 m2 consisting of all the modern facilities required. It is located in the heart of the city. It is located 180 km from Delhi and 120 km from Chandigarh. It is one of the oldest institutes of Haryana.
The college has been declared as College with Potential for Excellence (CPE) by the University Grants Commission of India, New Delhi. It is the only college in Haryana to be awarded the distinguished position. It is also accredited by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
Today Mukand Lal National College, Yamuna Nagar is a part of a chain of institutions being run under the banner of Seth Jai Prakash Mukand Lal Institutions of Knowledge and service.
The chain has a total of 30 institutions which include schools, colleges, polytechnics, engineering college, MBA/MCA institutes and hospitals which are serving the society in the fields of education and healthcare for the last about sixty years i.e.
since 1946.
The college offers three years undergraduate two years postgraduate courses in Arts, Science & Commerce stream under Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. It also offers some Career Oriented, Certificate, Management & Add-On courses.

- The college has taken up the responsibility of imparting necessary, effective and practical education to the students so that they can reach great heights and attain maximum achievements in their life
- The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to assure the quality of the college and also details regarding submission of Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) to NAAC annually
- The college runs a canteen inside the campus where staff and students can have meals and snacks prepared in a hygienic manner and at an affordable cost
- Internet & Wi-Fi facilities may be availed by the students and teachers as per their needs
- A fleet of ten buses is available for students within a radius of 50 km's.
- The college has a significant presence in the field of research. A number of major & minor research projects are awarded to the faculty members by the UGC and other bodies.
- The college also has a hostel with providing all the facilities, security and good atmosphere, best suited for studies of the boys & girls coming from far-off places.
- The college has a large playground with will-equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton and so on
- A medical facility has been available in the college for the benefit of the students
- State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
- A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
- The institution has provided ICT facilities like computers, projectors, audio-visual gadgets, scanners and printers to the departments and also other aids and a huge number of availability of books for effective delivery of curriculum and for inculcating the knowledge of the subject.
- To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution.
- The college also organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences for improving teaching skills and methodology
- The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
- The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
- The college consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment
