M.E.S. Teachers College, Bengaluru Urban was also known as MESTC, Bengaluru Urban was established in January 1958 by the Mysore Education Society, a registered educational organization of repute, with many enlightened members.
It is one of the premier colleges to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
The college has been permanently affiliated to the Bangalore University, Bengaluru vide Order No. GODE401/UBV/1999 Dated: 22nd February 2000 and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) in August 2004 under Act, 1956.
It is also recognized & approved by National Council For Teacher Education (NCTE), Bengaluru to offer B.Ed. & M.Ed. courses from the academic year 1996-97 and re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - (in 2nd Cycle) on 1st May 2015.
Presently the college is located at Rajajinagar in a serene scenic landscape. "Seek to Excel" is the motto of the M.E.S. Teachers College.The campus is located at Rajajinagar, Bengaluru which is 5 Km away from Vidhana Soudha and has a serene scenic landscape.
The college celebrated its Golden Jubilee in the years 2009-10 by organizing seminars and various co-curricular and extra curricular activities. The college was upgraded to the "College of Teacher Education (CTE)" by Ministry of Human Resources Department, Govt. of India in 1996.
Through their academic training, the college aims at inculcating high ideals like virtues of industry, self-sacrifice, service, honesty, godliness and those handed over as the precious cultural heritage of this great land. Students are encouraged to achieve purity of thought, word, and deed through self-discipline.
At present, the college offers one year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.
Apart from these, the college offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course under Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi through distance mode for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.
Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level.
But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.
The college also offers two years Master of Education (M.Ed.) course under Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Mysuru through distance mode for those who have completed their Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) with the minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.
Students here are admitted who completed their graduation in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the graduation level.
