Mekhliganj College (MC), Cooch Behar The University was established by Act of the Legislature of West Bengal in 1962.

It is a well-known college. The primary objective of this college is to provide a scope & opportunity of higher education to the people of this locality.

The college offers under graduate courses in discipline of Arts. All academic activities are carried out in accordance with the North Bengal University.

The college is affiliated to North Bengal University, established in 1962 with a goal to disseminate knowledge to fulfill growing socio-economic and technical manpower needs in the six North Bengal districts and the neighboring state of Sikkim.

This is a state university situated near Siliguri in Darjeeling district. This was the first university in the region.
