Measi College of Education, Chennai was established in 1902.

Its affiliated to University of Madras.

It is a Co-education Institution and has been established with the objective of imparting training in different disciplines of education with emphasis on practical application suited to Indian and Foreign environmental and educational needs.

With the fast pace of the current technological revolution, the need arises for training teachers who can meet the new challenges.

While the institution is being developed to meet all the requirements of modern teaching by constant interaction with educational institutions, it will be the endeavor of the management to adopt the methodology of imparting training to the teachers by co-ordination of its efforts with the developments taking place the world over.

The MEASI College of Education is managed by a Board of Trustees. The Board is assisted by an academic council consisting of professionals from different disciplines with vast experience and expertise.

The National Council for Teacher Education, Government of India, New Delhi had accorded recognition to the Institute.

The Institute has also obtained Affiliation from the University of Madras to conduct the B.Ed. Degree Programme.

After the formation of Tamilnadu Teachers Education University MEASI College of Education got affiliation to Tamilnadu Teachers Education.
