Mar Thoma College of Special Education (Institute of Speech and Hearing), Kasaragod was established in 2003.

The college is managed by Kunnamkulam-Malabar Diocese of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church.

It is an institution in self financing sector, recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) and affiliated to Kerala University of Health Science.

In the seven years after the commencement of the course the college has trained about

70 students who work as speech language pathologist (SLP s) and audiologist in India and abroad.
