Mar Thoma College of Science and Technology, Ayur was established in 1995. This college is affiliated to the University of Kerala.

Mar Thoma College of Science & Technology founded in the year 1995 is an Arts & Science College affiliated to The University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, India, owned and managed by the Mar Thoma Educational, Technical, Training & Research Centre (MT-ETTARC), which has its head office at, Mar Thoma Kendram, Mannanthala, Trivandrum, under the Trivandrum-Quilon Diocese of the Mar Thoma Church. The college has eight Under-Graduate and six Post-Graduate courses with due affiliation from the University of Kerala. The society (MT-ETTARC) is registered under the Travancore - Cochin literary, Scientific, and charitable Societies registration Act XII of 1955. The institution is recognized as a Minority Status Institution under the Article 30 of the Indian constitution by the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions vide its order dated 15.09.2009, F. No. 799 of 2008.

The Mar Thoma College of Science and Technology, placed in the idyllic setting, overlooking the bewitching Ithikkara River, with a sprawling campus, by the State Highway (SH-1) between Ayur and Chadayamangalam, harnessing value based education, rooted in social, ethical and spiritual foundations, for imparting knowledge, as is seen and understood in the light of Gods revealed wisdom.

The Mar Thoma college of Science & technology owes its existence to Our Lord’s abundant mercy and blessings and the visionary excellence of late His Grace the Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan, our founding patron. The college is undoubtedly the fruit of the unbending resolve, intrepid bravery, and venturesome boldness of the Founder. We proudly salute the wisdom, vision, and passion of our Founding Father. With a deep sense of gratitude, we remember all those who worked in various capacities and contributed to build this institution.

The college offers under graduate degree programmes in B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. Polymer Chemistry, B.Sc. Electronics, B.Sc. Botany & Biotechnology, B.Com. Commerce with Computer Application, BA English Language and Literature, BBA Business administration, B. Com. Finance and Post graduate programmes in M.Sc. Biotechnology, M.Sc. Electronics, M.Sc. Computer Science, M.Sc. Polymer Chemistry, M.Com. Commerce (Finance) and MA English. The college has a total student strength of 885 (UG & PG as on March, 2021).
