Mangalam College of Education, Kottayam was established in 1995.

The College is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, and recognized by National Council of Teacher Education and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

Its managed under Mangalam foundation, a trust constituted for the social service to run B.Ed course and in December 2006 to run M.Ed. course on self financing basis.

The foundation also runs the Mangalam English Medium Higher Secondary School, Teachers Training Institute, Engineering College, Mangalam Management Studies etc.  

Mangalam College of Education is the only one college in the Self-financing sector which is accredited by N.A.A.C in the Kerala State.

Their Educational complex comprises of 35 acres of land including all other sister institutions are free from noise and environmental pollution.

The building has adequate number of rooms with sufficient number of furniture. Right from inceptions the college has achieved the instructions of having 100% Results each year with a large number of students passing with first classes and distinctions.
