Mallamma Marimallappa Women's Arts & Commerce College, Mysuru was established in 1982 was founded by Sri Gurikar Marimallappa under the management of Marimallappa Educational Trust in the name of Smt. Mallamma.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to University of Mysore, Mysuru and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.41 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 15th November 2015.

The institution, located in the heart of the city, provides teaching and learning environment with all basic amenities."Empowerment of Women" is the prime objective of this institution which is achieved by a fine blend of positive values and right knowledge.

A school was started on the 15th of June 1876, By Gurikar Marimallappa at his own residence in Mysore City. As the school grew from strength to strength, there arose the necessity for a bigger building.

Then the present building, housing Marimallappa P.U. College, High School, and Higher Primary School were constructed. When there was a shortage of money for completing it, Smt. Mallamma, the wife of Sri Gurikar Marimallappa, sold all her jewelry so that the construction of the building continued.

Thus, this imposing building was completed, with the supreme sacrifice and service of the noble lady. Such yeomen service prompted the Marimallappa Educational Trust to start a Women's First Grade College in the name of Smt. Mallamma.

In this way, Mallamma Marimallappa Women's Arts and Commerce College came into existence in 1982. Today, it is a leading college in Mysuru City whose destiny has been shaped by experienced and dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff.

At present, the college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts & Commerce streams with various optional specializations under the University of Mysore, Mysuru and also offers some Add-On courses.

Apart from these courses, the college also has a contact centre of Karnataka Open University, Mysuru to offers various courses.
