Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Medical College, Kolenchery was established in 1967.

with the objective to engage in activities.A well equipped hospital was also established in 1970, just three years after the inception of the medical college.

The hospital is named as the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Medical Mission Hospital.The college and hospital are being run and managed by the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, at the moment.

The Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Medical College (MOSCMC), Ernakulam operates a variety of activities like offering medical education to the students and providing quality treatment to the people of Kerala.

The college has a community health department that takes the facilities of the hospital into the community.

The department does so through a network of peripheral health centers, resident nurses, health volunteers and local coordinating bodies.Both the college and hospital are being managed and run by Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Medical Mission.

The college is approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and has been affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University.
