Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir's Loknete Vyankatrao Hiray Arts, Science, and Commerce College, Panachavati (Dist. Nashik) was established on 15th June 1971 and managed under the Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir's Society which was established on 2nd October 1952.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with the Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 22nd November 2004 under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (CGPA Score 2.47 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 24th September 2014.

The aim of the college is to upgrade the rising generation and equip them with new technology and science in order to enable them to scale higher peaks of careers in a globalized world.

The Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir's Society has been established numbers of colleges/schools for the student in the region of Maharashtra and all over the India. The trust started their own institution having K.G. to P.G.

The college has two wings viz. junior and senior. The junior wing of the college has Arts, Science and Commerce faculties with a vocational department called M.C.V.C. The senior wing of the college imparts higher education through three faculties' viz. Arts, Commerce and Science.

It is a co-educational private institute, providing a regular course which is located in an urban part of Nashik played a pioneering role in the field of higher education. the campus is located in another city also has a different name of institutions.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government.

The student's admission is done as per the Admission Criteria prescribed by the affiliating university.

This college has awarded as the best college by the Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. Also Numbers of an award in publication, offering scholarship also awarded by the different society.

At present, the college offers two years intermediate courses in Arts, Science, & Commerce streams with various optional specializations under Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Pune.

The college also offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce stream with various specializations under Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. It also offers Ph.D., Diploma courses and vocational courses.

Loknete Vyankatrao Hiray College also functions as a study centre for the various courses conducted by Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik through distance mode.
