About Maharshi Dayanand College of Arts, Science & Commerce
Maharshi Dayanand College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Mumbai was established on 24th August 1962 by Late Shri. Mangaldas Verma and managed under the Maharshi Dayanand Education Society.
It is one of the premier minority linguistic Punjabi colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in their part of progress.
The college is affiliated with the University of Mumbai, Mumbai and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 20th June 1962 under Act, 1956.
It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade (CGPA Score 3.03 on a 4 Point Scale in 3rd Cycle) on 30th October 2017.
The Maharshi Dayanand Education Society has been established numbers of colleges/schools for the student in the region of Maharashtra and all over the India.
It is a co-educational self-financed private institute, providing a regular course which is located in an urban part of Mumbai played a pioneering role in the field of higher education. the campus is located in another city also has a different name of institutions.
The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the Admission Criteria prescribed by the affiliating university.
This college has awarded as the best college by the University of Mumbai, Mumbai. Also a number of awards in publication, offering scholarship also awarded by the different society.
The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management streams with various specializations and offers two years postgraduate courses in Science and Commerce streams with various specializations under the University of Mumbai, Mumbai. It also offers Ph.D. and Add-On Certificate courses.

- The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on 16th February 2004 to assure the quality of the college and also details regarding submission of Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) to NAAC annually

- The college has a significant presence in the field of research. A number of major & minor research projects are awarded to the faculty members by the UGC and other bodies
- The college has a large playground with well-equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton and so on
- A medical facility has been available in the college for the benefit of the students
- State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
- The institution has provided ICT facilities like computers, projectors, audio-visual gadgets, scanners and printers to the departments and also other aids and a huge number of availability of books for effective delivery of curriculum and for inculcating the knowledge of the subject
- A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
- To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
- The college also organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences for improving teaching skills and methodology
- The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
- The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
- The college consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment
