About Maharashtra Institute of Medical Education and Research

Maharashtra Institute of Medical Education and Research (MIMER), Pune was established in 1995.

The institute has been affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Nashik, approved by Medical Council of India and accredited with ‘A’ grade by NAAC.

Dr. B. S. alias Bhausaheb Sardesai established Talegaon General Hospital in 1925 with the vision to provide excellent health care at an affordable cost. It was his dream to start a medical college at Talegaon .

He along with his team collaborated with MAEER , M.I.T. Pune to establish the medical college.

The hospital is renamed after him as Dr. Bhausaheb Sardesai Talegaon Rural Hospital in order to cherish his memories.

The hospital is located in the same campus of the college. 

It is worth mentioning that the Hospital is visited from time to time by renowned personalities from all walks of life.
