Maharani's Arts and Commerce College and Management College for Women, Bengaluru Urban was established in 1975.

It is one of the premier reputed Government Institutions of Karnataka established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Bangalore University, Bengaluru and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) in the year 1986 under Act, 1956, and identified as the "Centre of Excellence" by the Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Karnataka.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 3.25 on a 4 Point Scale in 3rd Cycle) on 3rd March 2015.

It is situated in the heart of the city of Bengaluru on a sprawling campus of 6.5 acres. The Government has sanctioned Rs. 11 Crores for vibrant infrastructure facilities to bring about state of art technology based classrooms and buildings.

Setting benchmarks for continuous quality, sustenance, and improvement, the College has walked many miles. During the course of its journey, the Arts College has started many new programs like B.Com, and BBM in the UG Section beside M.A (Economics), M.A (Political Science) and the Post-graduate MBA program. It has also started Add-on Courses in Communicative English and Financial Services.

The college was rechristened as “Maharani’s Arts, Commerce, and Management College for Women” in the subsequent times. With many innovative programs, value-addition initiatives and women empowerment strategies, the college has earned social accreditation and carved a niche for itself not only in Bangalore City but in the whole state of Karnataka.

This institution which has always strived to empower women students by providing knowledge, skills and the value system that are necessary to create worthy human beings.

There are 18 departments in the UG studies and 5 departments in PG studies.

The college offers three program opportunities in B.A., B.Com., and BBM with 15 options to choose from.

In PG studies the college offers M.A. in Political Science, M.A. in English, and MBA. The college offers Add-On courses in Communicative English, Certificate course in Financial Services.
