Maharaja Agrasen Mahavidyalya, Jagadhri populary known as Maharaja Agrasen College, Jagadhri was etablished on 7th August 1971.

It is one of the premier institutions established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is located in the twin town of Yamunanagar-Jagadhri, where students discover their career path through a variety of traditional, professional and add-on courses in arts, humanities, commerce and management.

The college is a government aided private college of Arts and Commerce, located in Jagadhri and affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. It recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 16th January 1991 under Act, 1956.

It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B++" Grade - (in 1st Cycle) in the year 2003-04.

The college has traversed a long way, moving decisively towards its goal of becoming one of the leading institutions dedicated to imparting quality education to the students.

The initial funds for setting up of the college came from the Maharaja Agrasen Sabha (registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860).

The Maharaja Agrasen Sabha is also running Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management and Technology, to promote the quality management education through MBA and MCA programs since 1997 and 2000 respectively.

The college is making consistent progress in both academic as well as co-curricular segments. The college offers several traditional courses at the degree level. These include B.A. with Economics, Political Science, History, Public Administration, Sociology, Physical Education, Computer, Environmental Studies, and Commercial Arts.

Besides these, the college is running following job oriented and vocational courses and also offers various add-on diploma and dual degree courses under UGC scheme.
