Madhabdev College, Lakhimpur was established in 1964. It is one of the premier institution of higher education in the district of Lakhimpur Assam.
The college is affiliated to Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) Act, 1956. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "C++" Grade.
The college was founded and named after the great vaishnavite leader Guru Sri Madhabdev, the cultural architect that synthesized and integrated the Assamese society.
It offers education in the streams of Arts and Science at +2 and Undergraduate level. lt has 15 full fledged teaching departments with adequate infrastructure. The college in its humble way helps to spread higher education in this tribal belt of rural and backward area of the state besides trimming talents in fields of games and sports, culture, literature and social service. It also offers some career-oriented courses and vocational courses.
