M.S. Panwar Institute of Communication and Management (MSPICM), Solan was established in 1999. Its affiliated to Bharitya Vidya Bhavan.

MSPICM is offering three P.G. Diploma courses in Media and Communication and three Management courses affiliated to Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai. Considering the expansion of Broadcast and Eletronic Media, the Institute is offering One year dual Diploma programme in Radio and TV Journalism & Mass Communication. The Diploma programme in Radio and TV Journalism would be offered by MSPICM, Solan and the P.G. Diploma in Mass Communication by Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai.
Besides conducting media courses, the Institute can boast of a vibrant Development Communication unit giving exposure to the students for being part of an integrated media. Ideas like Community Radio and TV studio, Web-based media and newspapers and magazines that can become part of community development and growth have been put in action by the Institute. The Institute in collaboration with an International NGO - One World South Asia started a Grassroots level Development Communication project in 15 isolated villages situated on Karol hill, 15 K.M. from Solan near Kandaghat. The institute now runs Himachal’s first Community Radio Station (90.4 FM) from its own campus. The station offers diverse programming to address the various needs of the community and currently runs for over 14 hours. The station is widely popular throughout the region and receives many requests from listeners. The programming is handled entirely by students who have the liberty of constructing and delivering content which provides exposure to our students and broadens their perspective and horizon on social issues. The institute and its projects are gender sensitive and both men and women are involved in all the ventures. It provides a pollution free, vibrant, academic environment to the students. A scholarship scheme for outstanding performers based on merit-cum-means basis is also one of the institute’s student-friendly initiatives. The Vikas Panwar and Dr. Seema Bathla Memorial Scholarship Awards are granted to one male and one female student of every batch. The Institute has an effective Placement and Career Guidance Cell which helps students find suitable placements. All the outgoing students of the Institute have been placed in reputed Media organizations.
MSPICM is a pioneer in the field of Community Radio- being the first institution in Himachal Pradesh to get a licence for Community FM Radio.
