M.S.B. (Maganur Sarvamangalamma Basappa) Arts & Commerce College, Davangere was established in 1969 as an evening college but, it was established as day college on 1st August 1983 under the management of Bapuji Educational Association (BEA) was established in July 1958 and was registered under the registration of the societies Act, 1904.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Davangere University, Davangere and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 23rd July 2009 under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B+" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.60 on a 4 Point Scale in 3rd Cycle) on 15th September 2016.

The college was started in 1969 as an evening college with a generous donation contributed by Sri Maganur Basappa, a business magnet of the city, in memory of his better-half Smt.Sarvamangalamma, to impart education for the employed section of the society.

In 1983, the college was converted into a day college to cater to the educational needs of the students from all walks of life in and around Davangere.

The motto of the college, WISDOM IS GURU is truly inspiring to the students. It encourages them to realize their dreams and achieve their vision which otherwise seems impossible. At M.S.B, Students and Staff truly believe that nothing is impossible.

M.S.B. College is popular for conducting the state govt. competitive as well as university examinations and the college has received many distinctions at the university level.

At present, the college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, & Management stream with various specializations under Davangere University, Davangere. It also offers some Certificate courses.
