M.I.E.T. Arts and Science College was established in 1994.

Its affiliated to  Bharathidasan University.

The M.I.E.T. Arts college was established by the Mohammed Institute of Education and Technology Society, Tiruchirappali in the year 1994, a society registed under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975, at the initiative of Alhaj A. Mohamed Yunus, an industralist -cum-educationist as founder secretary and Alhaj S.M. Hassan Mohammed, a Philanthropist as the founder president, with an objective to serve the cause of higher education. The college is affiliated to Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappali.

It is recognized as a Muslim Minority Institution under the constitutions of India. In a short span of time, the college has registered a good track record of academic performance. It carries out several co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for developing life skills in students and offers useful placement services. The college has well laid hostels inside the campus for both girls and boys. Most of our students beong to minority community and rural places.

M.I.E.T. Arts and Science College buses are operated in and around the city and nearby villages, we also provide free bus facility for girl students in order to promote women education. We have an excellent and specialized play ground for various games and events. Special training were given by Physical Trainer for various sports event. We have an excellent unit of N.S.S. students. Our N.S.S Units participated in various blood donation campus. We have various clubs like Exnora Club, Rotaract club and Citizen Consumer Club. Each and every department conduct Special Guest Lecture delivered by expertise.

M.I.E.T shall provide high quality education, training and research facilities in Arts, Science, Engineering and Technology, leading to diplomas, under-graduate and doctoral degrees under recognized affiliating bodies and pave ways for useful innovations, by creating institutions with world-class infrastructure, excellent facilities and competent faculty.

It shall focus on the education and training of Muslim minority and provider better scholarship programs for economically challenged and socially deprived classes for social equity and economic stability.

To build the attitude in students towards a quality and academic devotion, an excellence for the betterment of themselves. To aim at overall grooming and personality development. To render services to the society with qualified engineers with ethical values by educating the students through placement training, support ofmoral values.
