L.R. Valia Arts & P.R. Mehta Commerce (VAMCC), Bhavnagar was established on 17th October 1969.
It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
The college is affiliated to M.K. Bhavnagar University, Bhavnagar and it is a Grant-in-Aid college. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 20th November 1975 under Act, 1956.
It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade on 28th May 2008.
The main aim of the college is to provide cast, creed and religiously free educational environment to the stakeholders from Botad and nearby villages.
The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts & Commerce stream under M.K. Bhavnagar University, Bhavnagar and the college has a Contact Centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi for Self-financing & Add-on courses.
A variety of teaching and learning techniques are employed to impart knowledge and skills to the students of the college. The College comes under the Bhavnagar University, Bhavnagar was established in 1978 by the state of Gujarat.
Various teaching and learning techniques are being used by the faculty to impart knowledge and skills to students at L.R. Valia Arts & P.R. Mehta Commerce (VAMCC), Bhavnagar in its various departments.

Mission:
- To evolve and execute educational and development programs, training faculty enrichment programs, social awareness programs, knowledge acquisition, development and extension of frontiers of knowledge in the interest of the community of large
- The college has an attractive, campus situated in secured and serene atmosphere suitable for learning
- The college has separate individual departments for all subjects with young, dynamic faculty and non-teaching staff and with good results
- The college has the most eminent Faculty members and they are really well qualified, experienced and truly committed towards enhancement and development of the students
- The colleges have maintaining academic results on average 85% to 90% at university examinations.
- The college has well-equipped with modern facilities like library, laboratory, classrooms, computer lab, canteen, seminar halls, multipurpose halls & playground etc.
- A sufficient number of classrooms with varying sizes are made available for the smooth conduct of different classes in the college
- The college has a library with a good number of books (both text and reference) on various subjects to meet the needs of the students as well as the teachers with reading room facility. Daily Newspapers and selected journals are also regularly subscribed
- State of the Art Laboratories with sufficient space and all the necessary equipment are made available to various departments
- The college has taken up the responsibility of imparting necessary, effective and practical education to the students so that they can reach great heights and attain maximum achievements in their life
- The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on 16th March 2009 to assure the quality of the college and also details regarding submission of Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) to NAAC annually
- The college runs a canteen inside the campus where staff and students can have meals and snacks prepared in a hygienic manner and at an affordable cost
- Internet facilities may be availed by the students and teachers as per their needs
- The college has a large playground with will-equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton and so on
- A medical facility has been available in the college for the benefit of the students
- State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
- A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
- The institute provides the training facility like- face to face interview, resume making, communication skills, that help the students to face the campus recruitment
- For every course, the college imparts practical training to its students that helps them to understand better, improve their demonstrative skills, eliminate hesitation and in this process strives to mold them into industry ready professionals
- The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
- The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
