In January 2009, Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) was established by the Government of Karnataka under the Karnataka State Law University Act, 2009, with its headquarters at Navanagar, Hubballi.
It was accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - (CGPA Score 3.18 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) on November 5, 2016.
The university has its own international Law Moot Court Competition and also a Kannada Moot Court Competition to provide an excellent opportunity to Law students to hone their skills.
The KSLU campus is coming up on a sprawling 55 acres of beautiful landscape at Navanagar, Hubballi.
The university is the single largest Law University in India having the credit of 93 affiliated Law Colleges including one KSLU Law School under its umbrella.
At present KSLU offers the 3 years LL.B. course, 5 years B.A., LL.B., B.B.A., LL.B. and B.A., LL.B., (Hon's) B.B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) integrated programs and LL.M. program. In addition, the Ph. D. and LL. D. programs are also offered on the main campus.
The university has launched P.G. Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights, Human Rights and Cyber and Information Technology Law on the main campus and can be offered by any of the affiliated law college having required facilities.
