Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry was established in 2002. The college is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University.

The Kristu Jyoti Group is oone of the groups of educational institutions owned by the carmelites of mary Immaculate (CMI) congregation of St. Joseph provice, Thiruvanthapuram. The carmelites of mary Immaculate, the first indigenous religious congregation has done pioneering job in the field of education, without any distinction of caste or creed ever since its inception in 1831. The founder of the congregation, Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara started the first Sanskrit school in Kerala in 1846 and the first primary school in 1864. Now this has grown to a network of 405 schools uncluding number of vocational Institutions and 20 First Grade Colleges, 4 Engineering colleges, 8 B.Ed colleges, 1 Medical College, 9 Technical Institutes with research centres and the deemed University, Christ Bangalore.

Kristu Jyoti College of Management & Technology, Chethipuzha, affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University and approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi (AICTE) that offers post graduate programme in Computer Application was started in the year 2002.

Two more new courses, M. Sc Bioinformatics and B. Com with Computer Application were started in the year 2004. Permission was accorded by MG University and Govt. of Kerala to offer BBA and BCA courses from 2010,B Com (Finance and Taxation) and M Com (Finance) from 2011 and B.Sc(Psychology) from 2014 along with second batch of M.Com and B.Com Computer Application. From the year 2015 the college started two new courses B.Sc (Geology) and B.A (English)

Inspired by the perennial response to the age-old aspiration of the Rishis of our Arshabharath, expressed in the Upanishadic prayer “Thamasoma Jyothirgamaya”, Kristu Jyoti College has taken “Lighted for Life” as its motto.
