Krishna University (KRU), Machilipatnam was established in 2008, by then hon’ble Chief Minister Dr.Y Rajasekhara Reddy.

It largely caters to the higher educational needs of people in Krishna district in particular and Andhra Pradesh in general.

KRU focuses more on research programs and innovative activities aimed at meeting the emerging challenges facing the country from a variety of perspectives.
