The Lingaraj College, Belgaum founded in 1933 was the first collegiate institution of the K.L.E. Society, Belgaum.

It is a matter of pride and pleasure that Lingaraj College is conferred with Autonomous Status, from this year by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi, the Government of Karnataka and the Karnataka University, Dharwad.

Today, it is a rare blend of heritage and modernity with which it still ranks as a centre of excellence in this region of the country.

Acknowledging this inherent quality, the NAAC accredited the college at the level in January, 2004.
