KLE Dr.M S Sheshgiri College of Engineering and Technology, Belagavi belongs to KLE Society, a society which has a legacy of 102 years in the field of Education and is one of the largest education societies in the Asia continent.

Established in the year 1979, KLE DR.MSSCET is a Self-financing, Non-Autonomous and an ISO 9001:2015 Certified Institution approved by AICTE, New Delhi and Permanently Affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. All the Seven B. E. Courses (Civil, Mechanical, E & E, E & C, CSE, Chemical and Biomedical Engineering) are accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi. The Institution is recognized under Section 2(f) of UGC Act 1956. The Institute conducts a full range of academic activities in the field of Engineering and Management education covering research, teaching, training, consulting and intellectual infrastructure development. The Institute focuses on holistic development of students by adopting the most innovative and creative dimension to impart quality education and employability skills

The institution presently offers 7 Under Graduate and 7 Post Graduate (M.Tech) programmes in various disciplines of Engineering including M. C. A. and M. B. A for graduates of various disciplines. With 11 departments recognized by VTU as research centers and state of art facilities for doing quality research, the college is one of the most preferred places for doing research and doctoral programmes by academicians and research scholars in North Karnataka.

The institution has hostel facility for accommodating about 500 boys and 500 girls on campus. The facilities in the hostels include uninterrupted power supply, Wi-Fi facility and separate gymnasium facilities. The students are facilitated with free medical service including indoor patient care through Vaidyashree health insurance scheme at KLE Society’s Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital and Research Center, a Super Speciality Hospital. Further, the banking facility with ATM, cafeteria with fast food centre, transportation through buses, round the clock security makes the college ambience a perfect destination for academic education.

Ten Student clubs like the Theatre club, the sports club, the Music club, the Human resource club, the Community development club, the Women development club, the Idea club, the Google students club and the Literary club which help in promoting the hidden talents in students.

The centralized placement system facilitates students of each branch an equal opportunity to grow for sustained excellence in career through training and placement. The Training and Placement Cell in Synch with Human Resource training cell- HRTC ensures that the students are trained from as early as 3rd semester for engineering courses and 1st semester for PG programmes, to guarantee industry desired employability skills in students. The placement cell is responsible for all functions related to campus placements and internships.

The placement cell does not limit its responsibilities only towards placing the students in campus but also facilitates and coordinates pool campuses with other institutes thereby opening wide avenues for better placement prospects.

Research is the center of locus for Intellectual growth-with this motto in mind; the college has formed the Research and Development Council (RDC), which encourages the students and faculty to undertake research projects. The RDC funds the appropriate projects to ensure that the students and faculties are engaged in quality research which ensures exponential career growth.

The college believes that young innovators can help stimulate the state’s economy; hence individuals who are unconnected and did not feel empowered to pursue their entrepreneurial ideas have been helped by setting a Start-up and Incubation Centers. The center helps to shape entrepreneurs who want to have a positive impact on society – with disruptive ideas that are scalable and meet societal needs.

With an intention of Collaborative growth KLE DR.MSSCET has signed a Memorandum of Understating (MOU) with Infosys for the campus connect program and soft skill development amongst students. It also as an MOU with KPIT, Pune with an objective to initiate Program for Academic Connect and Engagement (PACE) to provide a platform to build a strong relationship between the two institutions. In addition, the each departments have MoUs with the respective industries and organizations.

The ERP system set up at a college level helps to track the student’s performance and keeps a track of its alumni thereby increasing the operational level efficiency following an automated template system, allowing various departments to access information seamlessly. It also ensures a platform for two way communication with the parents.
