K.K.T.M Govt. College, Kodungallur (Dist. Trichur) was popularly known as Kodungallur Kunjikuttan Thampuran Memorial Government College, Kodungallur, established on 1st July 1965 by the Late poet Kunhikuttan Thampuran and managed by Kodungallur Kunjikuttan Thampuran Memorial Education Trust (R).

The college was taken over by the Govt. of Kerala on 17th May 1972.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with the University of Calicut, Malappuram and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 1st November 1982 under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (CGPA Score 2.74 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) in 2016.

The aim of the college is upheld the true vision of our patron saint whose very life was a beacon of charity, compassion, and love for all also attempted to cater to the needs of the weaker sections of society.

It is a co-educational private Institute, providing a regular course in which is located in the semi-urban part of Thrissur played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college had received many awards and accolades at a city, state and national level for their educational advancements also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of sports and curricular activities under the University of Calicut, Malappuram.

The college offers three years undergraduate and offers two years postgraduate courses in Arts and Science streams with various specializations under the University of Calicut, Malappuram.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by the University of Calicut, Malappuram, and various other examinations are held in the college premises.
